Army Warehouse Pallet Racking Storage System

The Army Field Support Battalion Hawai‘i supports military readiness across the islands by managing operational equipment, supplies, logistics coordination, and warehouse storage operations for Army facilities throughout the region.

At Schofield Barracks, portions of the existing pallet racking systems within the warehouse had reached the point where replacement was necessary to better support ongoing operational demands, material handling, and day-to-day warehouse functionality.

Because active warehouse environments like this regularly rely on forklifts and palletized inventory movement, the updated warehouse storage layout also needed to support safe maneuverability, accessibility, and efficient circulation throughout the space.

Working alongside a repeat Army client, Systemcenter coordinated the replacement of the aging pallet racking systems while navigating existing building infrastructure and operational site conditions throughout the project.

Designing Around Active Warehouse Conditions
The warehouse environment required careful coordination around existing site constraints and infrastructure already integrated into the facility.

Portions of the original pallet racking systems included existing fire suppression systems, requiring the team to clearly define project scope, communicate installation limitations early, and coordinate around existing building conditions before work could begin.

To help support daily warehouse storage operations, the pallet rack layout was designed with minimum 12-foot aisle spacing throughout the facility to allow forklifts to safely maneuver through the space during material handling and inventory movement.

The team also accounted for required wall clearances during planning and layout coordination to help ensure the updated warehouse storage systems aligned with existing warehouse conditions.
