Arctic Slope Regional Corporation Lobby & Atrium

Systemcenter Project 31656

The Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) plays a vital role across Alaska, supporting Alaska Native shareholders through programs that strengthen families, health, culture, and community while also leading a diverse portfolio of businesses that contribute to the state’s economy.

Their headquarters is a daily touchpoint for that work. It is where community members come for support, where partners connect, and where employees carry out initiatives that extend far beyond the building itself.

With that level of impact, the experience of walking into the space matters.

The first-floor lobby serves a wide audience, from business partners to shareholders accessing essential resources. Just beyond it, the second-floor atrium is visible from below and functions as a central hub for employees to gather, recharge, and collaborate throughout the day. Together, these spaces shape the first impression of ASRC and influence how people experience the organization from the moment they arrive.

To support that experience, the environment needed to reflect the same level of service and professionalism that defines ASRC. The space also needed to support a range of uses, from welcoming visitors with thoughtfully selected lobby furniture to creating areas for connection with flexible collaborative furniture and comfortable breakroom furniture in the atrium.

ASRC approached the project with a clear vision for how their space should feel and function, including the use of their own materials to reflect their identity. Bringing that vision to life required thoughtful coordination, especially as some fabrics had been discontinued and others needed to be carefully matched across a range of furniture applications.

Working collaboratively with ASRC, Systemcenter helped translate that vision into a cohesive environment. Through careful planning and product alignment, customer-supplied materials were successfully integrated across lobby furniture, collaborative furniture, and breakroom furniture while maintaining consistency, durability, and long-term performance.

The completed lobby creates a welcoming and grounded first impression for every visitor, supporting the wide range of people who walk through ASRC’s doors. The atrium now serves as a flexible and comfortable space for employees, with collaborative furniture that supports connection and breakroom furniture that encourages employees to step away, recharge, and return ready to focus.

Together, these spaces reflect the scale and purpose of ASRC’s work. They support the people who rely on their services and the teams who carry their mission forward every day.
