High Density Mobile Storage Modes of Operation

FLEXIBILITY IN CONTROL OPTIONS

Spacesaver offers a range of system control options. To demonstrate the flexibility of Spacesaver Mobile Storage Systems, illustrated below are three different density configurations designed for the same architectural space. Note especially, the handling of the column obstruction in each and how density increases as we move from powered to mechanical assist and finally to manual system control.

POWERED

STANDARD POWERED

Powered mobile shelving systems provide immediate access to stored goods. Activate system movement with the push of a button, and then enter aisles as the carriage begins to move open the requested aisle. Standard push-button controls, an optional infrared capable control or an optional secure touchpad aisle access control can be specified. Control can be configured so that you can keep your system to normally open to your most heavily used aisle or aisles, which ensures quick, direct access to your most frequently needed materials.

TOUCH TECHNOLOGY CONTROL

From cell phone and tablets to ATM machines and airport kiosks, LCD touchscreen technology has become a standard part of our daily lives—and striving for optimum ease of use, security, and safety, Spacesaver offers Touch Technology Control™, our own LCD touchscreen technology, for several of our high-density mobile storage systems. With an interactive and dynamic screen with an intuitive menu and tutorials, the visual features of Touch Technology Control makes it easier than ever to store and access the items you need in a safe, secure way.

POWERED OPERATION FLOOR PLAN EXAMPLE

Programmable Up to 81’ (24.6 m) long standard (longer available). Programmable options available. Maximum density with minimum space needed for aisles.

Total = 4,976 Nominal Shelf Feet (1,516 m)

MECHANICAL ASSIST

MECHANICAL ASSIST

Mobile shelving units are moved by simply turning an ergonomically designed, soft-touch, three spoke rotating handle. This handle allows users to move carriage weights of 4,000 to 10,000 lbs. with only one pound of effort. A variety of safety options are available for mechanical assist mobile storage systems.

MECHANICAL ASSIST FLOOR PLAN EXAMPLE

Up to 45’ (13.7 m) long standard. Three-spoke operator allows one pound of effort to move minimum of 4,000-pound load. Three sections of larger capacity units and two entry corridors.

Total = 4,152 Nominal Shelf Feet (1,265 m)

MANUAL

MANUAL

Spacesaver manual mobile shelving systems are a cost-effective alternative to mechanical assist controls. Pulling the handle moves the carriage from side to side. Ideal for smaller mobile storage systems with lighter loads.

MANUAL OPERATION FLOOR PLAN EXAMPLE

Up to 16’ (4.8 m) long standard. Easy, frictionless movement for smaller applications. Four rows of 4’ (1.2 m) long manual units with two entry corridors.

Total = 3,424 Nominal Shelf Feet (1,043 m)
