Commander 7th Fleet
Commander 7th Fleet
Systemcenter Project # 20609
The Commander of the 7th Fleet built a new three-story headquarters building on Yokosuka Naval Base. The 7th Fleet Staff needed to be operational on May 3rd 2021 in the middle of COVID and a logistics nightmare when trying to expedite and deliver over (10) 40′ containers from Holland Michigan to Japan. Not only did we complete the project before the deadline, but we did so in record time!
This is an excerpt from an email we received for the GSA:
Good day. I hope all is well. After a lengthy design phase, which I totally respect, and the many headaches the team had to endure, and an install team that is top notch and above the best, the Commander Seventh Fleet Installation is complete. Technically, the Commander Seventh Fleet Team was moving in as of yesterday. Completed a walk through today at 1400, there are minor issues such as a few faulty LED lights, a few missing panels, etc…but nothing from a furniture stand point that will not allow the Seventh Fleet Staff to be operational on 3 May.
My hats off to Kris, for keeping things together and completing a design that was flawless. With most of the network cabling running through the floor, each workstation had to be spot on, and they were.
There were a few challenges with transportation that we were able to overcome. Once the containers arrived, the installation team took over and quickly made things happen. The entire installation team put the final bow on a successful project. Had there been a different team, there would be no chance of me sending this email today. By the way, it seems they have a record of offloading 300 plus chairs (two 40′ containers) manually in less than 30 minutes. Could have been less than 30 minutes, but the containers had to be swapped out. A JOB WELL DONE!
I know I missed folks that contributed to the success of this project, so please make sure they are recognized.
Due to the nature of the building, not many pictures were taken. But what was taken is shared in the attached. Enjoy!
Thank you for all your support, I am honored to be able to work with a team of professionals.
